Empowering Survivors to Break the Cycle of Abuse
Brandon, MS, October 2023 — In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Our 3 Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to empowering survivors of abuse, is hosting their annual, "Reveal to Heal: Celebration of Survivors." on October 22, 2023, at the Vault Venue in Brandon, MS.
This annual fundraiser is dedicated to raising awareness about the perils of abusive relationships, amplifying the voices of survivors, and celebrating the indomitable strength of those who have broken free from the cycle of abuse.
A New Chapter: The Self-Care Expo
In a fresh and inspiring turn, this year's Reveal to Heal will feature a Self-Care Expo. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with self-care vendors and discover self-care practices that can rejuvenate the body, mind, and spirit.
Founder, Danielle Leverett-Gallaspy, says that self-care plays a crucial role in the survival and recovery of individuals who have experienced domestic violence.
“Domestic violence is traumatic. And it’s a long-lasting experience that leaves survivors with physical, emotional, and psychological scars. Self-care is a vital part of the healing process because it builds resilience and self esteem, ultimately empowering survivors to regain their independence and secure a life free of abuse,” Leverett-Gallaspy said.
The expo opens its doors at 1:00 PM, providing a space where attendees can connect with experts, explore self-care products, enjoy chair massages, and participate in demonstrations. The celebration commences at 3:00 PM and promises to be unforgettable. Attendees can look forward to a day filled with inspiring stories, music, delectable food, an inspiring message from keynote speaker and media personality, Tambra Cherie, and the eagerly awaited announcement of the 2023 Survivor of the Year award recipient. Survivors, their families, supporters, and anyone interested in attending are encouraged to attend.
Tickets are $40.00 and can be purchased online at www.our3.org/revealtoheal. All proceeds will directly benefit the organization’s Fresh Start and S.A.F.E. Space programs which provide toiletries and household items, ID replacement services, crisis transportation, and housing process navigation assistance to survivors of domestic abuse.
